Unauthorized Wearing of U.S. Military Veteran Uniform Patches on company uniforms
Dec 19, 2025

May 7, 2025

TO: All AA & Envoy TWU Members

SUBJECT: Unauthorized Wearing of U.S. Military Veteran Uniform Patches on company uniforms.

Dear Sisters & Brothers:

It has come to our attention that some Union members have been wearing uniforms bearing patches and insignia that are specific to U.S. military veterans. We must address this matter with the seriousness it deserves.
Wearing military veteran patches or insignia without proper authorization is not only deeply disrespectful to those who have honorably served in the armed forces, but it may also violate federal law, including the Stolen Valor Act. Such actions can be seen as an attempt to misrepresent military service and diminish the sacrifices made by actual veterans.

We want to be clear:

Effective immediately, any member wearing clothing with unauthorized U.S. military veteran patches must cease doing so.

This is not a matter of fashion or personal preference, it is a matter of integrity, respect, and legality. We strongly urge all members to honor the service of our veterans by refraining from the inappropriate use of military-related symbols.

Thank you for your immediate attention and compliance.

Fraternally,

Greg Cosey TWU International Rep.
Jose Galarza TWU International Rep.
Rollie Reaves TWU International Rep.
