Dear TWU Local 591 members,
We are writing to you today to apologize for the unfortunate delay on your order of our “All American” American Roots hooded sweatshirt. This past winter American Roots received defective cotton from our Carolina cotton supplier. Upon realizing the defect in the cotton we immediately pulled several thousand yards of the graphite cotton designated for the TWU order.
In addition we identified a new supplier and began the process of making new cotton for the order. While it is extremely unfortunate that we had to recall fabric, American Roots prides itself on making the highest quality 100% American made and union made product down to every thread. We stand by our customer service and our attention to detail by taking full responsibility in making sure our clients are happy and have an outstanding product. We fully intend to deliver the remaining hoodies made with the highest quality US materials and constructed by the proud workmanship of our USW 366 members.
American roots began its mission to provide good paying union jobs and create high quality union made clothing in the fall of 2015. We have grown from a team of 6 to a team of 24 and are incredibly grateful for the opportunity that we have to grow and be a part of the union economy. We never forget that our product is being paid for and bought by the hard working men and women of TWU 591 and that is something we take very seriously. Our ability to continue to grow, produce high quality garments that are made with 100% American made materials, by the members of USW 366 relies on our companies ability to stand by our supreme quality and excellent customer service. While we are disappointed that we are unable to deliver on time we thought it was far more important to deliver a high quality product to the men and women of TWU Local 591.
We are excited to be growing to a new factory which will let us grow our union work force and expand our production capacity. We hope that you accept our apologies for the delays of our product to the hard-working members of TWU 591. Thank you again for the opportunity to work with you and we look forward to a long lasting relationship. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
In solidarity, Ben, Whitney, USW local 366 AR team members
